The people of Abruzzo are hardworking, with strong hearts and spirits. Even in the face of disaster, they started by thanking all the response units that came to their aid, before even beginning to dwell on the question of how these tremors can still prove so destructive in the 21st century. FIAMM, too, which hosts one of its most important productive sites in Avezzano, felt the need to send a tanglible message of solidarity: just 2 days after the most violent tremor hit, Mr. Stefano Dolcetta met the Bishop of Avezzano, donating to him a substantial amount of financial aid, which was then devolved to the Caritas in L’Aquila to support the more urgent initiatives. But it’s important to give merit to the other important gesture that emanated from the company heart: every employee will be able to divert one hour’s pay to the earthquake victims, and the total figure thus collected donated to the cause by FIAMM’s management.
