The speech addressed the specifications and composition of the newest generation sodium nickel chloride batteries along with a discussion of the battery's performance in areas of cycle time, maintenance requirements, operating conditions, safety and other factors. The presentation also provided a comparison of sodium nickel chloride batteries with conventional batteries and lithium, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of each technology. Finally, the session reviewed emerging uses for sodium nickel chloride batteries in the areas of telecommunications, vehicle-to-grid, uninterruptible power supplies and other applications requiring safe, clean energy storage.
